Important :
The CHS has initiated phase 1 of the discontinuation of its digital Raster Navigational Charts (RNC) offered in BSB format.
( 804 BSB files in February 2022 -> 666 BSB in March 2022 --> ... > 522 in December 2023 )
Charts that were cancelled in this phase are listed in Notices to Mariners (Edition No. 03/2022, March 25, 2022, notice *306/22).
However, the GeoGarage platform keeps the withdrawn files since February 2022, merged with updated available files available in december 2023.
So this is the last update with raster charts in 2023 in our GeoGarage platform, which will be replaced by ENC (1402 cells available at the end of December 2023) in a next future with a new compatible mobile application.
Note : CHS has some charts only available in paper but unavailable in digital form, especially in the Arctic part : this concerns a number of old charts in which the horizontal datum is either unknown or is so poorly positioned that these charts are unusable with modern precise positioning technology. A mere one per cent of the Canadian Arctic is charted to 'modern standards.
